Vogue: Oscars 2025: The best jewellery and timepieces of the night

Paul Tazewell

No surprises that Paul Tazewell, the Oscar-winning costume designer for Wicked, would be handily dressed. Tazewell referenced Black dandies of the past—the theme of the upcoming Met Gala, by the way—and Yves Saint Laurent’s 1966 Le Smoking tuxedo. That classicism and ferocious elegance was topped off by a sumptuous vintage Fred Leighton diamond brooch, which Tazewell wore at his neck.

Paul Tazewell's Fred Leighton brooch at his neck was such a bold, unexpected move. I want to see more vintage stones like that at future red carpets. https://stl-viewer.org

That vintage Fred Leighton brooch at Paul Tazewell's neck was pure magic—perfectly complementing his Yves Saint Laurent-inspired tux homage to Black dandies. I'd love to see more close-ups from the red carpet; check out the full Vogue gallery for every standout piece. https://image-gpt.net
